Continuous wall structure / 連続壁構法
内外の多様な境界をつくり出す、迷路のような空間構成が特徴のバウンダリー・ハウスですが、構造・構法に関しても独自（オリジナ）な方法を開発しました。
日本の中世の建築のほとんどは、構造体である柱・梁のフレームを見せる「真壁造」です。柱のリズムが空間全体をひきしめる役割をしています。
私たちは、構造体がそのまま仕上げとなる真壁造を継承しつつ、未来へ向けた新しい試みをしたいと考えました。
構造体をそのまま仕上材として見せつつ（華奢でなく）しっかりとした壁体とすること、電機や給水の設備も組み込むこと、そのためにレッドウッドの集成材を短ピッチで連続させ、その間に同じレッドウッドの板を落とし込む「連続壁構造」としました。
この構法により、壁は密実な木のかたまりの素材感を発揮することになりました。
For the structure, we developed a new structure system that we named the “Continuous Wall System” where a continuous arrangement of laminated pine wood planks (60mm x 150mm) are erected at a pitch of 300mm.
There were 2 reasons for developing this method.
1. To make the wall as thin as possible.
The thickness and the structures is 45mm thinner than the conventional wood frame construction where we use post and beams 105mm thick.
2. To utilize the small gaps inside the convex panels, treating the walls as a “free access wall” as opposed to a “free access floor” enabling us to house wiring and plumbing and lighting.

空間構成、素材、ディテール。
単に機能を満たしたものの集まりを「建築」に昇化するための努力と工夫の積み重ねによって、バウンダリー・ハウスは生まれました。
竣工後３年が経ち、クライアントより下記のメッセージを頂きました。
「この地に長く住んでいたが、こんなに自然と人間が近しい関係にあるとは思わなかった。朝、目覚めるとその日の天気が、からだ全体で感じられる。雨の日、雪の日、晴れている日。夜中に起きてリビングに行くと、別世界に紛れ込んだようになる時がある。青白い月明かりがゆっくりと移動するのを見ると、幻想的であり、感動的な空間となる。」
建築物に対する私たちの日々の努力と工夫の積み重ねが、物となり空間となり、私たちの未来へ向けた意図・意志がクライアントと共有され、クライアントの生活の一部を構成する。
その営みすべてが私たちにとっての「建築」なのです。
After living in the house for 3 years, the clients commended us with the following words.
“Although we had lived in this area for so long, never did we realize that we could feel so close to nature. We wake up and feel today’s weather through our bodies. The rain, the snow and the sun. Sometimes we wake up in the middle of the night and go to the living room. We feel like we have slipped into another world. It’s magical and impressive to watch the pale moonlight moving slowly.”
