On April 20, 2026, Imabari City (Mayor: Shigeki Tokunaga) announced the signing of a basic agreement for the “Sunrise Itoyama and Surrounding Public Land Utilization Promotion Project” with a consortium led by Shiden Business Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Tatsunari Yamazaki), together with Atelier Tekuto Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Yasuhiro Yamashita) and Taniguchi Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshinao Taniguchi).
At the signing ceremony, the consortium presented its proposal—selected through a competitive public proposal process—along with conceptual renderings. The plan outlines the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of a new high-value accommodation, aiming to create a new tourism hub that delivers a unique experience rooted in the character of Imabari.
The proposal was selected not only for the architectural firm’s 35 years of experience, but also for the diverse initiatives led by Yasuhiro Yamashita, including the operation of the accommodation brand “Denpaku” in his hometown of the Amami Islands, as well as his broader work in community development and real estate.
Leveraging the collective experience of the group brand led by Yamashita, preparations are now underway for the renovated facility scheduled to open in winter 2027, followed by the newly constructed facility planned for winter 2028.
